Using the Live Incident Map

Overview

The Live Map (/map) is the primary view for monitoring incidents in real time. It displays incident markers on an interactive map with configurable layers and a collapsible incident sidebar.

Requires: Pro tier or higher.

Layout

  • Desktop — Full-screen map with a collapsible incident list sidebar (384px wide). Click the sidebar toggle to expand or collapse it.
  • Mobile — Tab bar with Map and Incidents tabs to switch between the map view and the incident list.

Incident Markers

Each active incident appears as a marker on the map. Click a marker to view:

  • Incident type and status.
  • Address and responding units.
  • Time received and last updated.
  • A Navigate button that uses your preferred navigation method (set in Profile).
  • A link to the full incident detail page.

Map Controls

  • Zoom to newest — When toggled on, the map automatically pans and zooms to newly reported incidents.
  • Layer panel — Toggle map layers on and off (see Understanding Map Layers).

Incident Sidebar

The sidebar shows a scrollable list of active incidents with key details. Each card links to the full detail page and includes a Navigate action.
