The Fire Weather page (/firewx) is dedicated to fire-specific weather conditions — the information most critical during wildfire season.

Requires: Pro tier or higher.

What's Displayed

Red Flag Warnings & Fire Weather Watches

These are the most critical fire-weather alerts from the National Weather Service. Each alert card shows:

  • Alert type and severity.
  • Affected area.
  • Expandable section with the full NWS description and instructions.

Fire Weather Observations

Live data from weather stations with fire-relevant metrics: relative humidity, wind speed, temperature, and fuel moisture indicators.

RAWS Data

Remote Automated Weather Stations (RAWS) provide fire-weather observations from locations specifically chosen for wildfire monitoring. Data is polled regularly.

Fire-Focused AI Briefing

When available, a Gemini AI–generated briefing focused specifically on fire weather conditions.

When to Check Fire Weather

Monitor this page closely during:

  • Red Flag Warning events — extreme fire weather conditions.
  • Santa Ana wind events — hot, dry offshore winds.
  • Any period of low humidity and high winds.
  • Active wildfire incidents in LA County.
